Mrs. Zumbrun and Mrs. Obert took the 7th and 8th grade classes to the Huntley Project Museum to learn about what life was like during the American Civil War from a group of five reenactors. The students talked to a sutler ( A civilian who was authorized to run a store near a military camp. He could sell items that were not considered necessary or supplied by the army.), a nurse/ doctor, a Native American, soldiers and a cook. They also were able to tour the museum and learn about the history of the Huntley Project and tour a replica of the town.

Mrs. Zumbrun's American History class working on a Great Depression Break Out that dealt with the Dust Bowl. A Break Out is an activity in which students work together and think critically to "break into" locked boxes. They must solve challenging puzzles and follow directions carefully to succeed. They had a lot of fun trying to get into the boxes.
